Advanced Integration updates for Cubase 5, MR816 CSX/X and CC121

Steinberg is pleased to announce that it has today released a set of updates to its software and hardware solution consisting of Cubase 5, MR816 CSX and CC121. The added capabilities include substantially extended control options for CC121, workflow enhancements for MR816 CSX/X as well as functional additions and refinements to Cubase 5. The updates further deepen the integration of the three components within the context of the Advanced Integration technology centred on the Cubase 5 Advanced Music Production System. The end of a Red audio legend

After 15 years of outstanding sales, Focusrite are finally to discontinue the legendary Red 3 Dual Compressor / Limiter. The Red 3 was launched in 1994, secured a TEC award in 1995, and went on to become an industry standard worldwide. Almost every major studio owns, or has at some time hosted, a Focusrite Red 3, famous for its ability to retain a natural, unobtrusive sound even when significant compression is being applied. Red 3s are frequently placed over the mix bus, applying an effect that Tom Lord-Alge describes as, ‘kissing the Focusrite’.

Arsenal Audio is dead, long live JDK Audio

Automated Processes, Inc. (API) have renamed their Arsenal Audio brand to JDK Audio after receiving a complaint from JVC America of the use of the word ‘arsenal’ in reference to API’s recently introduced brand of pro audio equipment. Arsenal Audio by API products include a microphone preamp and two versions of a four band audio equalizer manufactured for use by professional recording artists and engineers. JVC Americas Corp. is the registered owner of the word ‘arsenal’ in association with products for car audio equipment.
