The audio that screams from an SEM is fat, fine and funky, with a tonal variety unlike any other sound-generating device on this rock we call home. Gang up four of these monsters, and you’ve got sounds that’re thicker than thunder. SON OF 4 VOICE’s SEMs bring back vintage ’70s design … 100% discrete analog … absolutly no custom chips. SO4V can be used as a 4-voice polyphonic synth or as 4 individual synths under MIDI control. Two SO4Vs can be ganged together to create an 8-voice.
What’s that we are seeing on the Waldorf website? Waldorf is announcing special editons of the Blofeld desktop and keyboard synhtesizer. In stylish black!
One of bigger announcements of the past NAMM was the M-Audio Venom. This 49-key synthesizer combines the character of classic analog synths with modern digital processing to deliver an aggressive, infectious new sound. Whet your appetite with the included presets, then sink your teeth into creating original sounds—from atmospheric and subtle, to angry and downright nasty. Easily tweak parameters from the intuitive top-panel interface, or explore endless sound design and configuration possibilities with the included software editor. Perform bass lines, leads, and more with a full-size keyboard designed to satisfy serious players. You can even use Venom as an audio interface with Pro Tools M-Powered* and other music software—forming a powerful production machine to take your music in dangerous new directions.
Allthough several new products ‘leaked’ before the doors of the NAMM show were opened, we didn’t think we would get so many announcements or product updates as we actually did. To be honest, we were damn busy for a couple of days. There were enough manufacturers that managed to keep wraps on the new stuff till last friday and therefor surprised us with new goodies.
After the press releases and announcements from the WinterNAMM, now the videos are coming in. We have listed some interesting videos (as links) below for you to check out the ones you might think interests you. Dave Smith Instruments today introduced Tempest, a new analog drum machine, at the 2011 NAMM Show.
