Terratec announces the Aureon 7.1 universe

TerraTec Electronic is forging ahead with its uncompromising quality policy – high performance at a reasonable price. The audio experts in Nettetal, Germany present the 8-channel Aureon 7.1 Universe sound card, featuring a 5¼” front module and remote control including now GSIF2- and ASIO-drivers. The Aureon 7.1 Universe is the successor of the famous DMX 6fire 24/96 and a sound system designed to transform your PC into a professional surround sound studio for music, games and DVDs – with 8 channels and the latest 24-bit/192-kHz converter technology for recording and playback.

With Aureon 7.1 Universe, top games and movies on DVD become the ultimate experience in sound with captivating, realistic surround sound. The card also aims to satisfy musicians by supporting a wide range of audio sources, transforming PCs into hard disk recorders. The included 5¼” front module not only features stereo inputs and outputs for analog and digital equipment (optical and coaxial), but also connections for headphones and microphones.

It’s also possible to directly connect tape decks or turntables. Its phono preamp (with hardware RIAA equalization) and included professional audio restoration software lets you transfer old vinyl records to digital media. And last but not least, the front module also lets you control your computer using an infrared remote.

Whether DVD, music or games-the Aureon 7.1 Universe adapts itself to commercial standards: Sensaura 3D, EAX, ASIO, A3D, DirectSound. AC3 streams are directly transferred to the optical digital interface via non-audio mode. A generous selection of software including Intervideo WinDVD 5 and Sound Rescue TerraTec Edition 2.0 rounds out the package.

The Aureon 7.1 Universe is available for 169 euros
