Numark Mixdeck – Gearjunkies Quick Review

Numark Mixdeck – Gearjunkies Quick Review

Recently I had the opportunity to review the Numark iDJ3. After that I was able to hook up the Numark Mixdeck and have a closer look at this DJ console. It wouldn’t be fair to call the Numark mixdeck the iDJ3s ‘big brother‘, because the Mixdeck has much more to offer then just being a big brother. Just take the CD players, the analogue mixer, the connections for mass storage devices together with the touch sensitive jogwheels, the 3 bands EQ, many more INs and OUTs for use in clubs or a drive-in. This whole package makes the Mixdeck much more then just a ‘big brother’!

Synth.nl – Interview with a classic Gearjunkie

Many, many years ago when we started Gearjunkies, we had to come up with a name. We wanted it to reflect the thought we had in our minds: the love for gear. Marc, Mark and myself (Eric) had a common love for electronic music but also the affection for the gear that made this music. That was when the name ‘Gearjunkies’ came into the picture and pretty soon we decided that this would be the name for our ‘project’: Gearjunkies!

World Record Attempt – Most Producers On One Track – Join In!

This just came in from the Beatport Blog. A rare opportunity to get world fame (well kinda). Swedish gent and top notch producer Hakan Lidbo is a true musical maverick who reflects the times we live in. He has produced everything from easy listening electro pop, techno, electroclash, house and electronica for labels like Skam, Pokerflat, PAPER Recordings, Skint, Tommy Boy, and Ministry of Sound. He has remixed for Kool Keith, Plastic City, Ennio Morrocone, Depeche Mode, Trentemøller, Fever Ray and on. He also curates the Stockholm electronic arts festival Voltfestivalen.

Black Lion Audio Sparrow ADC mk2 Introduced

Black Lion Audio Sparrow ADC mk2 Introduced

Black Lions long-awaited Sparrow ADC mk2 is now available for purchase! It is available in three separate models, each with a different color, price and performance quality. There is an obvious need for affordable, yet good-quality converters within the professional and project studio world. Certainly there are great two-channel systems available, but they are prohibitively expensive. Those that are within reach of the project studio’s budget usually suffer from the poor sonic qualities that plague mass-produced studio equipment. Black Lion have made it their mission to develop superior-quality, boutique audio equipment but at very “un-boutique,” affordable prices.

djDecks v1.00 released

djDecks has finally reached v1.00. This release is based on the djDecks DX version that has been in beta for quite a while now, so this means that it will also play video and karaoke, allow video effects, text overlays and picture slide shows. Besides that, the browser, playlist, autoplay and search features have been improved, the audio engine is more flexible (allowing you to mix multiple asio/directsound/wasapi devices) and controller support has been improved too (besides midi, HID and OSC are now also supported).

Lynx Studio – Say Hello to Hilo
