Open Labs announces Music OS 3.0 and partnership with DELL

Open Labs, the industry leader and pioneer for nearly a decade in allin-one music production workstations, is proud to expand its product line by introducing, Music OS™ 3.0. Music OS 3.0 or MOS (moss) is the world’s first music creation and live performance software designed specifically to address the needs of both music creators and live performers. With over 7 years of integrated touch screen experience, MOS was purposely developed and optimized for touch screen use; however, a touch screen is not required when installed on PC desktops and laptop systems. Important to note, Open Labs will be releasing an Apple OS X supported platform in early 2012.

Yamaha Vintage Plug-in Collection from Steinberg now available

Steinberg today released the Yamaha Vintage Plug-in Collection. Announced at this year’s Musikmesse in Frankfurt, Germany, the Yamaha Vintage Plug-in Collection comprises three groups of plug-ins: the Vintage Channel Strip, Vintage Open Deck and Vintage Stomp Pack. Based on Yamaha’s Virtual Circuitry Modeling (VCM) technology, each plug-in can be used in multi-instances and is compatible with VST 3, VST 2.4 and AU plug-in formats.

Teenage Engineering OP-1 – Gearjunkies Review

Once in a while it takes a bunch of courageous people to come up with something completely different even though it doesn’t seem viable. The OP-1 is just such a thing. Looking like a toy and not like an instrument yet if you take a closer look it actually is. At first it reminded me of the Casio synths that were quite popular a century ago. Is the OP-1 the 21st century version of the Casio? Not really, but it takes some time to explain this because the answer is quite elaborate.
