PMC announce a new range of powered two-way nearfield monitors at this year’s IBC. The active twotwo series combines PMC’s world-class design pedigree and respected Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading technology with sophisticated digital signal processing. The result is a range of premium true reference tools designed for ultra-critical professional monitoring, in stereo or surround.
This week Focusrite announced the Scarlett 2i4 audio interface. This interface is the bigger brother of Scarlett 2i2 and features two Focusrite microphone pre-amps, four outputs, an assignable headphone output and MIDI i/o. DBX recently announced the PMC Personal Monitor Control which is a remote control for a digital monitor mix solution. PMC control surface allows users to control their personal mix of 16-channels of audio via BLU link. If you see the Zomo MC-1000 for the first time you’ll notice it wants to look different then your usual average controller on the market. By its compact shape and limited amount of buttons, it’s clear (to me) that this isn’t intended to be a stand-alone controller. This device has been developed to be used together with a DJ mixer. It has the width of a 12″ club mixer, like for example a Pioneer DJM-850/900. Furthermore it is clear that the Zomo ‘borrowed’ some design features of Pioneer mixers.
