Celemony Artists Series – New Melodyne tutorials and films
In six new video tutorials, Celemony demonstrates techniques for the editing of lead vocals, the creation of way-out guitar parts, and the extraction and remixing of lead vocals from a playback using Melodyne. Other themes covered in the tutorials include the construction of beats from one-shot samples and the creative use of Melodyne’s Amplitude and Formant tools.

Something for the Weekend: Olafur Arnalds Living Room Songs
Sometimes I (Eric) come across projects or videos that … well, that gives me love for music, love for life, just love! I instantly get into a wonderful good mood. And this week that project is from Ólafur Arnalds, a fantastic Icelandic musician. I don’t know what they have in the water there but I really like the music coming from this island. I probably don’t have to mention I am a big fan of Sigur Ros as well! Anyway, Ólafur had this project going this week called ‘Living Room Songs’. This week he creates and releases a new song, one per day for one whole week. The songs are being recorded and filmed live in the living room of his Reykjavík apartment and released instantly for FREE as streamed videos and MP3 downloads.

Apple just officially announced that her founder, Steve Jobs, has passed away at the age of 56.
Apple iCloud will be launched on October 12
Apple announced that iCloud, a breakthrough set of free cloud services, including iTunes in the Cloud, Photo Stream and Documents in the Cloud, that work seamlessly with your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC to automatically and wirelessly store your content in iCloud and push it to all your devices, will be available on October 12. iCloud stores your music, photos, apps, contacts, calendars, documents and more, keeping them up to date across all your devices. When content changes on one device, all your other devices are updated automatically and wirelessly.
Focusrite launch Saffire Mix Control v2.4
Focusrite have posted an update to Saffire Mix Control, the Mac and PC-compatible mixer software that comes free with all Saffire PRO and Liquid Saffire Firewire audio interfaces. The highlight of the release is compatibility with Mac OS v10.7 (Lion), the latest version of the Apple OS X operating system.
