Nomad Factory Releases MAGNETIC II – Audio Tape Warming Plug-In

Nomad Factory, leader in tube emulation technology, proudly announces the launch of “MAGNETIC II“, a truly realistic “Real to Real” audio tape warming effect plug-in that gives your audio tracks the exclusive vintage tape sound which your ears crave. Yamaha 01V96i Digital Mixing Console Announced

The new 01V96i has been launched at InterBEE 2011, an international exhibition showcasing broadcast, video, audio and lighting equipment, held in Japan from November 16 through 18. Since its initial release in 1998, the 01V has been used in a wide variety of applications – both personal and professional – ranging from recording and production environments to live sound and installation setups. As this console has evolved over time, Yamaha has devoted itself to building a strong relationship with its customers in order to give them the features and improvements they need, enabling the 01V to remain the industry standard for compact digital mixers. Finally I found something nice for another “Something For The Weekend” post again. Thanks to the Dave Smith Twitter feed I came across this really nice video of rozz3r doing a live ‘electronica’ jam. Watching and listening to “Waiting for a storm” I remembered why we originally started Gearjunkies. The love for analog gear (back in the day!). I love this because in this world where more and more is being replaced with software, there’s still time for some real fun.

Recently I got my hands on Mixed In Key version 5. I knew the program of course by name and also by fame, but I never had used it before. So I was kinda curious what it was all about. If you have never heart of Mixed In Key, it is an analysis program to detect information like the key and bpm of audio files. With this information DJs can elevate their mixes to higher levels because of ‘harmonic mixing‘. DJs can match tracks better or select tracks that are (more) compatible with eachother (key wise).
