One major problem when controlling VST parameters with hardware encoders is that every VST parameters can have different range, you have “switches” “continuous control” etc… while the encoders do not “know” the range of the parameters (ie, you have to turn many times just to switch “on / off”).
Dada Life releases The Sausage Fattener
The Sausage Fattener only has two knobs. But don’t be fooled. With those seemingly simple parameters you can create loads of different sounds. Use the Sausage Fattener on a single channel with moderate settings as a musical compressor. Turn it up and you have a dirty bastard of distortion. But you can also use the plugin on a bus (for example all the drums and the bass) or the whole track as a mastering plugin.

Quikquak just posted a youTube video of a new plug-in, to be launched very soon: MashTactic. MashTactic is a plug-in that can separate various parts of a full audio mix. Many sounds, include vocals can be cut or isolated from a track.

Wireless DVSystem with iPhones
A novel method of digital scratching is presented as an alternative to currently available digital hardware interfaces and time-coded vinyl (TCV). Similar to TCV, the proposed method leverages existing analog turntables as a physical interface to manipulate the playback of digital audio. To do so, however, an accelerometer/gyroscope–equipped smart phone is firmly attached to a modified record, placed on a turntable, and used to sense a performers movement, resulting in a wireless sensing-based scratching method.
