Sagan Technology updates Metro

Sagan Technology has recently released a pre-release of their Metro Sequencing Audio Software (version 6.3.1). Upgrades from 6.2 are free. All new purchases include access to this version. There is an upgrade price of $29.99 to upgrade any flavor of Metro from 6.x to 6.3. Metro Documents written with this version will NOT be readable in any version prior to Metro/Metro SE version 6.3. This pre-release (Metro and Metro SE) still works under OS 9 but Sagan is no longer providing Tech support for OS 9.

Celemony and SAE Institute agree to work together

Celemony Software and the School of Audio Engineering (the SAE Institute) have concluded a far-reaching international agreement that will see numerous SAE studios equipped with Celemony software and the unique audio program Melodyne forming part of the SAE curriculum. Under the same agreement, SAE students, as well as members of the Institutes alumni association, will benefit from special prices on Celemony products.

By the first week of July, Dash Signature plans to release SWOOSH Machine, a VST DashSound Player like EVE and EVE ONE, but with a dedicated 1 GB library including a wide range of natural and synthesized audio effects – it will be sold bundled with a default 250 MB sample set for US$75, three further expansion packs (250 MB each) will be available for US$29.90 each.

KORG offers virtual OASYS Interface

Korg USA and Karma Lab have posted a Flash-based OASYS Virtual GUI, an online demo that allows users to explore a virtual replica of the graphic user interface of the Korg OASYS Open Architecture Synthesis Studio. This full-blown simulator provides an interactive, in-depth tour of the OASYS interface in a way that gives a true feel for the logic, layout and capabilities of OASYS. It was co-developed by Karma developer Stephen Kay and avid OASYS enthusiast Bob VanDamme, in partnership with KORG USA.
