Korg Monotribe now officially released

Korg Monotribe now officially released

In a world seemingly ruled by digital, Korg created an analog sensation with the palm-sized monotron Analogue Ribbon Synthesizer. Korg has once again raised the analog banner with the amazing monotribe Analog Ribbon Station; a new form of synthesizer that packs an amazing array of features and technology into its compact body. Korg’s monotribe shares the monotron’s analog DNA, yet quickly delves deeper into the rich, organic, and often chaotic world of analog synthesis. In addition to analog synthesis, monotribe brings together intuitive ease of use and a three-part discrete analog rhythm section, plus the proven appeal of Electribe-style sequencing. Complete with a built-in speaker and battery power, monotribe is self-contained and highly portable.

It has lowpass, highpass and bandpass mode, a LFO with six shapes including sample & hold, an envelope generator with attack-decay when triggered from audio signal or attack-sustain-release when triggered via gate. There also is an envelope follower and an input for an external control voltage source. The input signal can be fattened via overdrive and the BALLS circuitry.

Moog introduces the PolyTheremin

Moog Music engineers carrying on the legacy of visionary founder, Robert Moog have announced the first major technical Theremin design advance in over 40 years.  The PolyTheremin incorporates bleeding edge Iso Directional Inductive Oscillator Technology, to isolate space around five individual pitch antennas thus enabling each to be played simultaneously (finger-by-finger) without interference from it’s companion antennas.  This revolutionary concept breaks the long held belief that the Theremin could only be monophonic instrument.

V-Station HD app – Another famous synth coming to the iPad?

V-Station HD app – Another famous synth coming to the iPad?

The trend that the iPad set last year is undoubtedly not slowing down. The iPad will become more and more a musical tool in the studio and beyond. Last year we saw some synths being recreated for the iPad by Korg for example. Just a few days ago we were sent a picture of another ‘famous’ synth being ‘recreated’ as an app. Is Novation taking the plunge in the app market with a V-Station (HD) app? It seems legit as the V-Station was the VSTi version of their hardware K-Station. So with the popularity of the iPad as an instrument (and the improved midi capabilities) it makes sense that the V-Station would be the synth to recreate as an app.
