MusikMesse Pictures – Part 1
Allthough it began as a pretty ‘grey’ day in Frankfurt, but once inside the MusikMesse the smell of fresh, new gear made us smile again. This is the first batch of pictures we will be posting here… all week long! Enjoy.

Legendary Wavedrum technology – now in compact form! Announcing the energetic and on-the-go Wavedrum Mini; with built-in speaker, battery-powered portability, and a revolutionary sensor clip that transforms nearly any object into an instrument.
In a world seemingly ruled by digital, Korg created an analog sensation with the palm-sized monotron Analogue Ribbon Synthesizer. Korg has once again raised the analog banner with the amazing monotribe Analog Ribbon Station; a new form of synthesizer that packs an amazing array of features and technology into its compact body. Korg’s monotribe shares the monotron’s analog DNA, yet quickly delves deeper into the rich, organic, and often chaotic world of analog synthesis. In addition to analog synthesis, monotribe brings together intuitive ease of use and a three-part discrete analog rhythm section, plus the proven appeal of Electribe-style sequencing. Complete with a built-in speaker and battery power, monotribe is self-contained and highly portable.
Introducing the world’s first Nord Electro with Hammer Action, sporting a classic 73-key E-E range keybed – without sacrificing portability (only 11 kg/24,25lbs). Vermona will be presenting even more new products this week in Frankfurt, Germany. At the MusikMesse they will also unveil the new Filter Lancet. It’s basically the filter section of the new Retroverb Lancet for those who don’t need the reverb effect. It has lowpass, highpass and bandpass mode, a LFO with six shapes including sample & hold, an envelope generator with attack-decay when triggered from audio signal or attack-sustain-release when triggered via gate. There also is an envelope follower and an input for an external control voltage source. The input signal can be fattened via overdrive and the BALLS circuitry.
Messeleaks in full effect! After the picture leak from the Roland Jupiter-80 and the Yamaha moX6 and moX8, Matrixsynth has the scoop on the Korg Monotribe pictures. We from Gearjunkies will promise you this: we will have the first Messe pics online from all the new gear! You’ll have to wait until Wednesday.
Yamaha will introduce a new series of ‘Mobile’ Motifs at the coming MusikMesse. The Yamaha moX 6 and moX 8 are continued development models of the current Motif series. These new moX workstations combine Motif technology with multichannel USB computer integration and bundled VSTi’s.
There is really no stopping this … dude! Mario Jurisch from Synth-Project has yet another hardware controller finished. It is a Alphatron SP Controller for the H.G.Fortunes VST Instrument. He has specially designed it for his 10″ Touchscreen. The case is a “rack” Version and it´s sitting on his first controller the Pure-MCone.
Synthtopia and Roland Clan have the scoop of the new Jupiter-80 that Roland will announce on the upcomming MusikMesse. We, from Gearjunkies, did know the name and that it will be a VA synth, but we did not find any photos, … until NOW!
At first glance, Ziggybox looks like an everyday item for smokers, which one could easily find in a living room. However, it is a synthesizer that generates and modulates sounds by placing cigarettes in the notch of an ashtray or by opening a box of cigarettes.
With the VSR-3 – vintage spring reverb and the Retroverb Lancet Vermona will show two new spring reverb units at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt next week.

Moog Music engineers carrying on the legacy of visionary founder, Robert Moog have announced the first major technical Theremin design advance in over 40 years. The PolyTheremin incorporates bleeding edge Iso Directional Inductive Oscillator Technology, to isolate space around five individual pitch antennas thus enabling each to be played simultaneously (finger-by-finger) without interference from it’s companion antennas. This revolutionary concept breaks the long held belief that the Theremin could only be monophonic instrument.
The trend that the iPad set last year is undoubtedly not slowing down. The iPad will become more and more a musical tool in the studio and beyond. Last year we saw some synths being recreated for the iPad by Korg for example. Just a few days ago we were sent a picture of another ‘famous’ synth being ‘recreated’ as an app. Is Novation taking the plunge in the app market with a V-Station (HD) app? It seems legit as the V-Station was the VSTi version of their hardware K-Station. So with the popularity of the iPad as an instrument (and the improved midi capabilities) it makes sense that the V-Station would be the synth to recreate as an app.
