NI Tutorials on the new X1 Controller

Controllerism guru Ean Golden of DJ TechTools reveals advanced performance tricks for getting the most out of the Traktor Pro effects suite with the new Kontrol X1 controller. Softube Trident A-Range Equalizer Released

Softube is shipping the Trident A-Range for native (VST/AU/RTAS) and TDM. Trident A-Range is available today at the Softube web shop and at authorized Softube dealers at an introductory price of $229 (Native) or $329 (TDM/Native), excl. VAT. The introductory offer will last through out February, thereafter the price will be $279 and $449, respectively.

Blue Cat Freeware Pack Update – RTAS and 64-bit support

Blue Cat Audio is happy to announce the release of a new version of our free audio plugins bundle. This update includes official RTAS plugin format support for Pro Tools users. It also brings out of beta 64-bit support for DirectX and VST versions under Windows x64. We have also added 64-bit Audio Units support under Snow Leopard (for 64-bit Logic 9.1 users).

Many thanks to all beta testers who helped us improve the plugins! As a side note, the legacy Digital Peak Meter plugin is still available separately but has been removed from the bundle installer to streamline upgrades.

AAS Ultra Analog VA-1 v1.1.3 Update

Applied Acoustics Systems releases the Ultra Analog VA-1 v1.1.3 Update for Mac OS X and Windows. This is a maintenance update containing the following changes:
– Authorization now works with non-admin user accounts;
– Fixed browser focus crash on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard;
– Fixed drag-and-drop in Logic 9 but now have a separate edit window;
– Fixed MIDI Links behavior on On/Off buttons;
– Fixed random crash on preset change;
– Fixed loading plug-in parameters glitch in projects saved with v1.0.0 of Ultra Analog VA-1.

Apple Launches iPad

Apple today introduced iPad, a revolutionary device for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, reading e-books and much more. iPad’s responsive high-resolution Multi-Touch™ display lets users physically interact with applications and content. iPad is just 0.5 inches thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds— thinner and lighter than any laptop or netbook. iPad includes 12 new innovative apps designed especially for the iPad, and will run almost all of the over 140,000 apps in the App Store. iPad will be available in late March starting at the breakthrough price of just $499.
