Yamaha Has An App for That – StageMix is an application for the Apple iPad that allows remote control of M7CL mix functions via a simple, intuitive graphic interface from anywhere within wireless range. The application enables the engineer to set up monitor mixes from a performer‘s position on stage directly controlling mix parameters via the iPad. To run StageMix on an iPad, a wireless connection from the iPad to a WIFI access point and an Ethernet connection from the WIFI access point to M7CLv3 is required.

This weekend at PLASA, Allen & Heath have launched several new products. Among them are three products that support the iLive digital mixing series. The xDR-16 expander unit provides remote analogue I/O expansion and networking options at FOH, on the other side of a large stage, in another room, or even in a different building during installations. Dante is a networking audio interface card for the iLive family of products. Together with Riedel Communications, leading manufacturer of intercom, audio, fiber and radio technology, A&H unveil the new RockNet RN.345.IL network plug-in card.

Avid Mbox 3 expected to be released next week…

As the internet was flooded with rumours on the arrival on a new Mbox from AVID last week, there were still no pictures to be found. But, … the pictures below just came in. Apparently AVID didn’t succeed in keeping them under wraps untill the official release. Like with the Mbox2 there will be two Mbox 3 versions. First the regular and a lighter‘ Mbox 3 Mini version. We don’t have any new specifications for both versions. It is to be expected that there will be no Mbox Pro version. Rumours are that it will be replaced by a totally new product expected at Winter NAMM 2011.
