The AlphaSphere is a new electronic musical instrument and controller which reinterprets the way we interact with sound. Its distinct design is made up of 48 pressure sensitive pads which form a modular spherical structure. Sound is triggered when you tap the pad, apply more pressure and you can start to mould and manipulate the sound further. Apply parameters to the pad-depth such as MIDI CC data, aftertouch, and pitch-bend to make your music truly expressive.

With a career of more then 15 years which started with his first album Space Force (on cassette tape), Danny Wolfers alter ego Legowelt is one of the Netherlands most important but also stable sources of West Coast Sound electro.

Just a few weeks ago we brought your our story of our visit to the Galaxy Studios in Belgium, during the Focusrite Rednet Tour. Our reporters Marc van den Hurk and Wouter Veltmaat went to the Galaxy Studio where they got a hands-on demonstration of the Focusrite Rednet audio system. Now Focusrite have released a video of the demonstration at the Galaxy Studios.

These past months we saw a few pictures on the Twitter feed of Junkie XL, showing some of the work he was doing with Hans Zimmer on the soundtrack for The Man Of Steel motion picture. The images were of a drum studio set up of twelve drum kits, all facing eachother. To us that looked very interesting.

Cleaver people with their cleaver ideas! The people at Kontor Records wanted to come up with an idea to improve the result on their promo mailings. They came up with the idea to grab the attention by using good old ‘vinyl‘. But with vinyl you need a player to play the record. So they included one in the mailing.

Novation TV spent a day with Teddy, where he showed them around Future Recording Studios 2 and played a brand new version of Guy’s 1988 hit ‘Teddy’s Jam’ on the Novation MiniNova.
