Voxengo releases HarmoniEQ VST

Voxengo releases HarmoniEQ VST

HarmoniEQ is a digital equalizer in PC VST format specifically designed to bring excellent and unconventional equalizing performance requiring little to none effort from the user. We have called HarmoniEQ a harmonically-enhanced equalizer because harmonical enhancement it applies to the sound is an inherent element of its overall sonic quality. Its special Boost mode coupled with a high-shelving boost produces a really stunning harmonically-rich and shiny sound.

Since the easiness of tuning was one of our goals HarmoniEQ features a single control surface to control equalizer curve. No knobs to have hassle with! HarmoniEQ’s control surface workflow implements our best findings in the area of “user-equalizer” interaction. This allowed us to offer the user 3 shelving and 4 bell-shaped filters without making HarmoniEQ a hard-to-finetune device. At the same time having 7 equalizer bands in total gives the user a lot of control over spectral details of the program material being processed.

V-Station now for Powercore and Win/Mac update

V-Station now for Powercore and Win/Mac update

Powercore users will be excited to learn that the VStation-Powercore is now available for purchase. The classic software synthesizer has been further enhanced to incorporate both extended and brand new features not present on the original.

Amongst the new additions is the revolutionary ‘Randomizer’, a fabulous tool that enables you to create weird and wonderful patches. The feature has two settings, one that defines the amount of the synth to be randomized and the other that determines the strength of the randomization. A simple mouse click is all that’s required after that to produce an unlimited supply of different patches, including some of the most unbelievable sounds you’re likely to hear! One of the expanded areas is the filter section, which now has a variety of different modes available. The filter can be set to Low- ,Mid- or High-pass at 12 or 24dB per octave, as required.

MODELmaker now also available for Neuron VS

Many Neuron VS users have been asking for MODELmaker, the software that makes it possible to transform own samples into neuronal Models. Since its release in December, users and potential users have complained in different forums that MODELmaker was not included in the Neuron VS package. Many conversations with users also just a few days ago at winter NAMM in Anaheim/California – have finally convinced us to open up this very important and individual part of neuronal synthesis to Neuron VS users as well.

From today, MODELmaker is freely available to all registered Neuron VS users. Just go to www.hartmann-music.com/home/members where you can download MODELmaker for Mac OS 9 / OS X and PC as well as the MODELmaker manual PDF.

Under the same link, there will also be a software update for Neuron VS shortly.

Upgrades and competitive upgrades available the night of the event.

The definitive audio production environment on the Windows platform takes advantage of the most professional DAW tools availble on the market. During the SONAR 4 tour Cakewalk presenters will be showing the power of SONAR 4 using MusicXPC computers, Edirol audio hardware and peripherals, and Blue Sky surround systems.

Cakewalk announces 64-bit host DAW application

Cakewalk, developer of the leading music and sound software for Windows, today announces the availability of a fully native 64-bit version of SONAR 4 Producer Edition, the definitive audio production environment on the Windows platform. The x64 Technology Preview version of SONAR 4 includes the entire application, along with a collection of additional DirectX effects, synths, and samplers to spotlight the advantages of music production in a 64-bit processing environment.

The SONAR x64 Technology Preview is now available for free download from the Cakewalk web site at www.cakewalk.com/x64 . A free pre-release beta version Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional x64 Edition is available for download at www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit .

With this native 64-bit application, Cakewalk is continuing its leadership role in ushering in the future of audio recording, editing and mixing on the PC. Cakewalk has a long history of providing cutting edge technology, with nearly two decades of product design and innovations, providing millions of users at all levels of expertise with PC music creation software.

Cakewalk’s implementation extends the amount of RAM available for music production on the PC to 1 terabyte (1024 GB), well beyond the current 2 GB limit offered by today’s 32-bit applications. This provides users with nearly unlimited potential for working with RAM intensive projects that make extensive use of samplers and numerous audio loops and tracks. SONAR x64 Technology Preview provides users with the ability to load entire, large sample banks, libraries, and audio clips into RAM, thereby eliminating the latency introduced by disk streaming. Additionally, future versions of SONAR will offer the highest resolution mix engine with a fidelity exceeding that of the most expensive professional audio tools available in the market today.

“We are very excited to be on the forefront of delivering x64 technology to the music production world, and have found Intel® processor-based Hewlett Packard platforms are ideal for delivering outstanding performance benefits to empower musicians.” commented Ron Kuper, Vice President of Engineering for Cakewalk. “In our testing not only are we seeing SONAR make more effective use of RAM, but as an added bonus we are also seeing reduced CPU overhead, which we believe to be the result of the increased number of internal registers within x64 processors,” added Kuper.

“64-bit Intel® Xeon™ processor-based workstations are optimal for the most demanding Pro Audio applications. Cakewalk’s SONAR 4 Producer Edition takes advantage of the capabilities of the 64-bit Intel Xeon processor to help meet the exacting needs of today’s audio professionals,” said Phil Brace, marketing director for Intel’s Enterprise Platforms Group.

AMD customers will also experience comparable performance gains using the SONAR x64 Technology Preview. A wealth of information and resources are available in the SONAR x64 Technology Preview FAQ found at www.cakewalk.com/x64/faq
