Everything Loudness with the TC Electronic Loudness Website
There are many aspects to loudness, and keeping track of all of them can be a challenge even to those already familiar with the topic. Therefore, TC has launched a new loudness website, as an extension of the overall TC Electronic website, where all of these aspects are outlined, explained and discussed. The site is an answer to the highly relevant question: “What Is Loudness, and Why Is It Important?”
Rob Papen The 4 Element Synth book and DVDs announced
Rob Papen, friend of Gearjunkies, is a Dutch sound designer whose sounds and virtual synthesizers like Blade and Predator are used by a lot of producers all over the world, has completed his 4 Element Synth book and DVD. He told us that he originally planned just one DVD with a bookled inside. Now, over five years and many hours of script writing, filming and editing later, he is finished and all the content is not on one but on four DVDs with over 10 hours of material and a book with over 200 pages of content.
Universal Audio announces new Compressor and Ambience Recovery plugin
Universal Audio announced two new plug-ins for the UAD-2 platform this week. Shadow Hills is an emulator of the highly revered hardware mastering compressorand has been developed together with Brainworx. Furthermore UA developed together with Bob Katz the precision K-Stereo plug-in which recovers the natural ambience of recorded sources. Both announced plug-ins will be available as part of the upcoming UAD Software v6.3.2 release, scheduled for early November

Moon is shipping 3500MP Microphone Preamplifier
Simaudio Ltd., a Canadian audio equipment manufacturer focused on home entertainment for the past 30 years, today started shipping their new “Moon 3500MP” Microphone Preamplifier. The new 3500MP is a solid-state two-channel mic preamp designed to deliver extreme detail, with an open and neutral sonic transparency, allowing the engineer to showcase the colorizations of their microphone choice instead of the preamp. The 3500MP will be a new reference device for the engineer or studio in their audio recording process. The Moon 3500MP 2-Channel Microphone Preamplifier is shipping at AES, the US suggested retail price is $4499.

Ableton announces Live 9 and new controller: Push!
Big announcement from Ableton today. Not only did they release the details for Live 9 but they also introduced a specific Ableton controller, named Push. Ableton did the design of Push but they got help from the engineers at Akai Professional for this controller. Push combines Ableton’s vision for music making with Akai Professional’s years of experience making instruments.
Unity Audio introduces The Avalanche Subwoofer
Unity Audio have announced they will preview the forthcoming Avalanche sub-woofer at the AES San Francisco 2012 show. The Avalanche subwoofer is the third product in the monitoring range and is designed to compliment the brands existing Rock and Boulder for those that want extra SPL and low frequency extension but also can be used in conjunction with other monitor brands.
Unveil Version 1.5 announced by Zynaptiq
Zynaptiq announces version 1.5 of UNVEIL, their realtime de-reverberation and signal focusing plug-in. This free update adds VST, RTAS and AAX support for both MacOS X and Windows systems, as well as several workflow enhancements, and will be available November 15th, 2012. Zynaptiq will be showing the new version at the 133rd AES Convention in San Francisco, October 26th-29th, 2012, booth 639.
Eowave Magma – Analogue Bassline Synth Available Now
Eowave Instruments have annouced that the synth which was firstly introduced at the MusikMesse 2011, under the name Koma, is now available as Magma. The Magma is an analogue bassline synthesizer inspired by classical synths from the 1980s. It offers the possibility to mix 4 different waveforms (saw, square, sub, noise). The 24 dB low-pass filter is also inspired from classical filters from the 80s.
Synth-Project AniControl – Animoog Controller on Video
Only last week we showed Mario Jurisch’s latest project an Animoog controller. This week he finished a demonstration video you can watch below. The Anicontrol has become a stunning Minimoog double, but this time with an iPad inside. The video is an overview and function test of the Animoog controller.
Eventide H3000 Factory Ultra-Harmonizer Native Plug-in Now Available
The H3000 Factory native is a re-creation of several algorithms from the venerable H3000 that combine pitch, delay, modulation, and filtering in a new modular interface. The H3000 Factory for AAX, AU, and VST supports 64-bit and features over 450 presets including over 100 new presets from Alessandro Cortini (Nine Inch Nails), Chris Carter (Throbbing Gristle), Colin Newman (Wire), Damian Taylor (Bjork), Dave Darlington (Bass Hit Studios), Kerry Leva (EDM Producer), Richard Devine (Sound Designer), and Scott Martin Gershin (Soundeluxe). It also includes over 100 original presets from the H3000.
