Softube Offers Crossgrade for PowerCore Users
On January 19, TC Electronic announced that they will cease further development of the PowerCore platform. Softube offers a crossgrade for PowerCore users that own Tube-Tech CL 1B or Vintage Amp Room for PowerCore.

New firmware and software updates for KRK ERGO
Released in 2008, the popular ERGO (Enhanced Room Geometry Optimization) is a stand-alone hardware room correction system that corrects recording studio acoustics and is compatible with all recording and monitoring systems. The state-of-the-art ERGO improves any studio mixing space by correcting for “real world” acoustic problems. In addition to firmware and software updates, KRK ERGO now offers support for Microsoft® Windows® 7 (64 and 32-bit) and Apple® Mac OSX Snow Leopard® operating systems, making it fully compatible with all major operating systems used in recording and production.

TC Electronic Powercore discontinued – Crossgrade to AUD-2 available
TC Electronic and Universal Audio announce collaboration to offer a high value crossgrade option to UAD-2 for registered PowerCore users worldwide, as further development for the PowerCore range comes to a halt. As part of a larger strategic review, TC Electronic has decided to cease further development of the PowerCore product range. With the most recent release of software version 4.0, PowerCore is fully compatible with current operating systems and DAWs – 32 bit as well as 64 bit.

A pioneering collaboration between mp3 creator, Germany-based Fraunhofer IIS, and innovative plug-in designer/manufacturer Sonnox Ltd., has resulted in a groundbreaking plug-in set to revolutionize the way audio is mastered for online distribution. The new Sonnox Fraunhofer Pro-Codec plug-in makes it possible for the first time to precisely audition codecs in real time. This breaks away from the current time-consuming cycle of having to encode the mix to mp3/AAC, preview it, tweak it and then go back and re-render.
