Music ALIVE 2010 – The Report!
One year later, same city, different location. Music ALIVE 2010 hosted at the Hilton in Rotterdam by Media Satellite.
The location was very nice and well set up. At the entrance everyone got an Ableton goodie bag, with the obligatory promo pamflets, keychords, other goodies, but also a Dance Tunes voucher to download two tracks for free. Which is always nice of course!
Steinberg: Support for PowerPC Processors Concludes
Steinberg announces that its support for PowerPC systems is gradually coming to an end. Due to Apple’s decision not to support PowerPC processors in its latest operating system, Snow Leopard, Steinberg has decided to focus exclusively on Intel CPUs in the development and testing processes for its Mac-compatible products.
This means that the current versions of Steinberg products will be the last versions to officially support PowerPC processors. These product versions will support PowerPC processors for the full lifecycle of these versions.
Samples of classic Nord units added to Nord Sample Library
The Nord Classics is a massive addition to the Nord Sample Library. The addition contains more than 370 samples with classic Nord sounds, from the original Nord Lead 2X, Nord Lead 3 and Nord Modular G2X. All the samples in the library are available for free to Nord users.
The addition to the big Nord Sample Library is a perfect fit for the Electro 3 user who wants classic synthesizer sounds to go along with the already much appreciated organ and piano sounds. Or why not se them in the Nord Wave as the foundation for new, great synthesizer sounds.
Blue Cat Audio Analysis Plugins updated
Bleu Cat Audio is happy to announce the update of their audio analysis plugins: the new versions include RTAS plugin format support for Pro Tools users as well as 64-bit applications support for both Mac (Audio Unit) and PC (DirectX and VST). We have aslo fixed a couple of issues (mainly on Mac/Snow Leopard).

Little Phatty emulator from Xhun Audio
LittleOne is a faithful emulation of a new classic: the Moog Little Phatty analog synthesizer. To produce the same rich and warm sound of the original hardware, LittleOne emulates every single component of the Little Phatty (oscillators, filter, envelopes, LFO …), preserving the original frequency responses and frequency ranges. Rosegarden (Linux) 10.02. version released
The Rosegarden team is proud to announce the release of version 10.02 of Rosegarden, an audio and MIDI sequencer and musical notation editor for Linux. This release marks five years to the day since the release of 1.0 (which would be be called 05.02 using our current numbering scheme). Rosegarden has come a very long way in only five years!
