New Sounds and Samples on Sample Saturday
These are the releases we have encountered this week on the Loops and Samples front. Just like the quality of the audio software we use these days the quality of the content we use (loops and samples) equally matches the high standards of this software. Below is this weeks selection.
MASC Touchtable DJ and studio controller MP3 player
This is an unique personal music player that incorporates interaction into the act of listening music. The large controller wheel surrounding the screen, acts similar to that of a turntable: when used in combination with the surrounding function buttons, it allows for compete user control over the track, through precise position, timing and pitch manipulation.
H.G. Fortune releases Alien Space Weaver VSTi Synthesizer
Alien Space Weaver is a very exceptional synth as it is especially made for spacey, deep or dark athmospheric backgrounds, soundscapes and FX sounds. One oscillator contains 75 very special samples i.e. partly fairly long ones being created from images providing very spacey sounds from the start already. Thus play it slowly and let the sounds evolve. This one is a tool too for those who like eerie, weird and really strange sounds to be crafted further via an easy to edit user interface.

PreSonus releases 64-bit AudioBox USB Driver for Windows
PreSonus has released a new software driver for its AudioBox USB 2×2 audio interface. The new driver adds 64-bit functionality for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 and can be downloaded (free) from the Technical Support/Downloads section of the PreSonus Web site.

Elektron demo videos for Machinedrum and Monomachine
Elektron have asked ‘Hector’ to show us why the Machinedrum and the Monomachine are so special. For each instrument there are three videos in which ‘Hector’ will give you a thorough introduction to these Elektron instruments.
XLN Audio releases Funk ADpak for Addictive Drums
Funk features a Pearl Reference Series kit with cymbals from Paiste and Sabian, 400 MIDI grooves and over 30 production presets. The Funk ADpak, focusing on contemporary funk beats and sounds, lays down the groove and lets you produce hot funky music in no time. Funk features a granite sparkle Pearl Reference Series kit with a 22″ bass drum and a thick 14″ snare drum. The four included toms range from a small 10″ tom down to a 16″ floor tom. The cymbal section consists of three crashes from Sabian and Paiste along with a 13″ Paiste heavy hi-hat and a 22″ Sabian Artisan ride.

Urs Heckmann releases ACE V1.0
Urs Heckmann (U-He) is happy to let you know that he has released ACE (Any Cable Everywhere) in version 1.0. ACE is a small, low cost synthesizer plugin with easy but powerful modular features. ACE is *very* hungry on CPU but has a rewarding sound quality that has rarely been achieved in software before.
