UPDATE: Coming NAMM 2008, any rumours going around?

From January 17 to January 20 the NAMM Show is the largest music products trade show in United States. Held every January in Anaheim, California, USA the show brings together all facets of the music products industry to reveal new musical instruments/products and ideas. And every year rumours start to emerge on the internet on what the manufacturers have cooked up for us. What can we expect for the coming year. We tried to gather some totally unfounded and unauthorised ‘rumours’ for you.

ARTURIA announces version 1.2 of the Prophet V

The virtual emulation offered in the Prophet V is an exact replica of the original instrument and uses the same subtractive synthesis model. Subtractive synthesis refers to the filtering of sounds in a specific way in order to create harmonically rich waveforms and new timbres. Our reproduction of Subtractive synthesis with TAE guarantees the sound quality of the instrument. Arturia has announced update-version 1.2. which is free to all registered users and can be downloaded at their website.

Bosendorfer announces stage piano

Thanks to the Vienna Symphonic Library’s non-looped samples, the CEUSmaster sounds like a genuine Imperial, yet that in itself would hardly satisfy our requirements for product innovation. Skylife intros SampleRobot 3

For the first time SampleRobot 3 will be publicly presented at the NAMM Show in Anaheim. After a longer period of development, SampleRobot 3 is now ready for musicians and sound designers that are in need for a creative all-in-one sampling and sample playback solution.

SSL expands plug-in portfolio for Duende with X-Eq

Solid State Logic will introduce their new X-EQ plugin for Duende at the coming NAMM next week. X-EQ is a creative equalising tool combining the best of both the analogue and digital worlds. SSL recreated the most legendary analogue equalisers and added a few experimental characteristics only possible the in digital domain. By using proprietary filter algorithms, they have achieved a huge dynamic range as well as extremely low noise and distortion level, and thus unparalleled sound purity, impossible with any analogue circuitry.

Doepfer showing new products at coming NAMM2008

DOEPFER MUSIKELEKTRONIK GMBH, will be showing new products at the coming NAMM exhibition in Anaheim. Most prominent will be the new A-100 CV/Gate Keyboard. The A-100CGK is a monophonic keyboard with CV and Gate outputs. The main application is the control of an A-100 system but even other modular systems or synthesizers can be controlled provided that they use the 1V/octave standard. In addition the A-100CGK has a Midi output available to be able to control the planned A-100 keyboard controller.
