SAE Institute acquires ams Neve
In a surprise move Mr Tom Misner – President and Founder of the multi-national SAE Group announced today the acquisition of the world’s leading console manufacturer AMS Neve. Tom, an audio technologist, visionary, & educator in the music field has maintained a very strong industry association and has been a user of Neve consoles for the past 30 years.
Sagan Technology updates Metro
Sagan Technology has recently released a pre-release of their Metro Sequencing Audio Software (version 6.3.1). Upgrades from 6.2 are free. All new purchases include access to this version. There is an upgrade price of $29.99 to upgrade any flavor of Metro from 6.x to 6.3. Metro Documents written with this version will NOT be readable in any version prior to Metro/Metro SE version 6.3. This pre-release (Metro and Metro SE) still works under OS 9 but Sagan is no longer providing Tech support for OS 9.

Magix updates Samplitude and Sequoia
Magix recently released version 8.2 of Samplitude and Sequoia, they also updated the 7.x versions to v7.2.4. While the 7.2.4 update only enables compatibility with the current CodeMeter dongle, the 8.2 update offers many new functions.

Solid State Logic is pleased to announce that the companies assets have been acquired by a joint venture established by musician and technologist, Peter Gabriel, and broadcast industry entrepreneur, David Engelke. The company, which will trade as Solid State Logic, will continue to design and manufacture mixing consoles and related audio technology at its Begbroke, Oxford headquarters.

Celemony and SAE Institute agree to work together
Celemony Software and the School of Audio Engineering (the SAE Institute) have concluded a far-reaching international agreement that will see numerous SAE studios equipped with Celemony software and the unique audio program Melodyne forming part of the SAE curriculum. Under the same agreement, SAE students, as well as members of the Institutes alumni association, will benefit from special prices on Celemony products.
Limited time Yamaha studio connections upgrade Incentive

The new programs are part of a push by new parent company, Yamaha Corporation to enhance the user experience and simplify software and hardware integration.
DashSignature announces new Swoosh synth
Dash Signature has announced SWOOSH Machine and released several free updates for EVE owners. By the first week of July, Dash Signature plans to release SWOOSH Machine, a VST DashSound Player like EVE and EVE ONE, but with a dedicated 1 GB library including a wide range of natural and synthesized audio effects – it will be sold bundled with a default 250 MB sample set for US$75, three further expansion packs (250 MB each) will be available for US$29.90 each.

DigitalMusician.net offers a free service
DM Digital Musician has now finalized their pricing structure. Digitalmusician.net will launch as a free service in August 2005 with a standard account that will offer full access to the digitalmusician.net (DMN) community web site and free use of the Digital Musician Link VST plug-in for real time audio and MIDI recording via internet with audio transmission rates that are equivalent to 128/bit mp3 compression.
