This is a nice video we came across through Mixmag. It’s an interview with the current ‘bosses’ of Native Instruments, Mate Galic and Daniel Haver. They tell us more about Native Instruments and a bit of its origins. We think it is a cool video as Native Instruments were, and still are, some a the real innovators when it comes to (digital) music technology.

Today a bit of a personal Something For The Weekend post. Last year the ‘I Am Legion‘ project emmerged onto our ‘music’ radar. It is a collaboration between a band we really like, Noisia from The Netherlands, and Foreign Beggars from the UK. This collaboration resulted in a full album and tour. The tour can still be caught in Europe and later this year in Australia.

This edition of ‘Something For The Weekend‘ is rather a special and personal one. This week Dick Raaymakers (a.ka. Kid Baltan) has passed at the age of 83 years old. We are pretty sure that very little of our readers and followers will know who Kid Baltan was, but for us it was an inspiring person and also an important person when it comes to electronic music. Dick Raaymakers was a pioneer in the field of electronic music and tape music but he has also realized numerous music theater pieces and has published many theoretical essays.
