Didn’t we bring you the good news that Jomox was planning a new production run for the SunSyn MKII just a few months ago? Today we sadly have to let you know that this attempt had to be cancelled for technical reasons… It seems Jomox had big problems to get the right parts for the SunSyn.
This week we have a video of the Latronic Notron hardware midi step sequencer. We tried to find more details and specs of this sequencer but this is just on of those little hidden gems from the past that almost anonymously exists in the world of analog vintage gear. There isn’t even a wikipedia page for it!
The dream to combine the power of a PC and the ergonomic of a real musical instrument is becoming reality. Feeltune announces the release of the Rhizome; one of the highlight of the MusikMesse when it was first presented last March. Many sites and magazines rated it best of the 2010 trade show! Doesn’t this look so freakin’ awesome? Wow, … well that’s what you get when you are a (brilliant) designer with a strong love for retro vintage synthesizers. As far as I have understood this is (only) a Design and Concept for the 76 Synthesizer iPad Application. This ‘concept’ originated in the brain of Jonas Eriksson, an award winning Designer / Developer who is currently located in Sweden and Los Angeles, USA.

Carlo Castellano is a professional session keyboard player (piano, organ, synthesizers and programming) with both studio and live experience. As a composer and sound designer he works on short films, documentaries and video games. I came across this video on Vimeo and immediately loved. it. Not only because I am a big fan of Daft Punk, but also because Carlo just did a fantastic job recreating the sounds of the original Aerodynamic track. All in all this is just a great video, really something for the weekend!

Automap is the piece of software that comes with all Novation controllers. It has been designed to make the job of assigning your hardware controls to various software parameters quick and easy. Automap enables knobs, faders and buttons to instantly control plug-in instruments and effects, as well as your sequencer’s mixer and transport controls. Its software interface shows you exactly what each control on your hardware is assigned to and, in combination with Novation’s controllers, is the clearest way of getting hands-on control of your DAW and plug-ins.
Yesterday we posted the unveiling of the TYRELL analog synthesizer project by Amazona.de. They guys at Amazona send us some more pictures and details of this ambitious project.
The guys (and girls) at online magazine Amazona.de had this crazy idea. “What about we make our own analog, polyphonic Hardware-Synthesizer?” And that’s what they have been doing for this past year. With this project they tried to nutch the Industry in developing a new ployphonic analog synth again. TYRELL was born!
Recently I came across this video from KEXP Radio (LA) of artist Nosaj Thing (a.k.a. Jason Chung) doing a improv (!!!) set on a AKAI MPD32 (and NOT an APC40 as I posted before, sorry!). It is very nice to see how well some artists can get an awesome performance from so little.
