Propellerhead updates Figure to add recording, saving and exporting
Propellerhead has released an update to Figure, its best selling music app for iOS. Available immediately, Figure 1.1 now adds saving, browsing and loading of songs, as well as variable loop lengths and export of audio through iTunes file Sharing. These new enhancements provide users with the most requested additions.
Something For The Weekend: Ko Matsushita RMX-1000 Demo
Last year we had a video in this section from Ko Matsushita where he used a Pioneer DJM-900, CDJ-2000, EFX-1000, Ableton Live, an iPad, Korg Kaossilator and Touch OSC to do a ‘mash-up’ of “Diabla (Metrik Remix)” by Funk D’ Void and “Flashback (Accapella)” by Calvin Harris. And now he returned with a new demonstration video but this time he uses the new Pioneer RMX-1000 FX controller to show his magic. We wanted to post this video as it is a simple hands-on video showing and, for us, seeing the little tricks and moves he makes to create a live mash-up.

Soniccouture Releases Crowdchoir – Profits to be Donated to The Red Cross
Soniccouture is very pleased to announce that their Crowdchoir project has been a great success.The ‘Crowd-choir’ was an idea for a crowd-sourced sampled instrument, partly inspired by the 10cc track ‘I’m not in love’, which famously featured a vocal pad sound created by painstakingly overdubbing a single vocal note over and over again.
Arturia announces Next Generation Analog Classic software
Arturia is proud to announce availability of ‘Next Generation’ versions of its Analog Classic software instruments as of July 6. Allen & Heath iLive on global tour with Morrissey
Allen & Heath’s iLive digital mixing system has been selected by FOH engineer, David Millward, as the console of choice on Morrissey’s 2012 worldwide tour. Requiring a small, lightweight console to travel with the production, Millward selected an iLive-80 Control Surface and iDR10 modular MixRack fitted with a Dante Card for multitrack recording and virtual soundchecking.

Ableton are pleased to announce the beta version of Live 8.4, featuring native 64-bit support. First Sonnox AAX plug-ins for Pro Tools|HDX and Pro Tools 10 released
Award winning audio plug-in developer, Sonnox, has today released AAX DSP and AAX Native versions of its highly acclaimed Oxford EQ and Inflator plug-ins. In making the announcement, Sonnox Managing Director Rod Densham remarked, “We’re delighted to be supporting the next generation of Pro Tools users with AAX and are very optimistic about the Pro Tools|HDX platform. The new AAX format will undoubtedly become an established plug-in standard, just as TDM has been. The Sonnox development team has doubled in size in recent months, and is working hard to port all our remaining plug-ins to AAX as soon as possible.”
