Hoobastank drummer Chris Hesse pounds tracks with HAMMER and NAIL. Hoobastank recently put the finishing touches on its highly anticipated new record, Fight or Flight, which makes its official debut in late August. Nearly two years in the making, the album was partially tracked at Woodland Hills-based studio The Lighthouse, owned by Hoobastank drummer Chris Hesse, who found frequent opportunities to use his A-Designs HAMMER equalizer and new NAIL compressor.

Moog MF-104M Analog Delay Introduced
Originally designed by Bob Moog and released in 2000, the Classic MF-104 Analog Delay was manufactured as a limited edition release of 1000 units. A special “Bucket Brigade” delay chip was employed allowing the effect to remain completely analog. Unfortunately, the supply of these chips was limited and the final MF-104 sold in 2001. Since then there have been two reissues of the Classic MF-104, the MF-104Z and the MF-104SD. In that time, each has been added to a short list of the most sought after analog delays in history.

Layering and Doubling Drum Samples in your DAW

Beatport announces Beatport Mixes (beta)
Beatport, the world’s largest dance music community and music store for DJs, today debuted a new service designed to sell mixtapes from the world’s leading DJs, called ‘Beatport Mixes.’ While other services have attempted to distribute mixtapes through overlay-heavy podcasts or ad-ridden Internet radio-like experiences, Beatport Mixes presents the entire long-form, continuous mixtape as the DJ intended it to be heard—in DRM-free, high-definition files.
