IK Multimedia announces MacIntel core duo support
IK has currently been testing products for use with the new processor architecture of the Mac Intel Core Duo system and it will start shipping them during the 2nd quarter of 2006, enabling IK users to combine the increased processing power of the new Intel based platform with IKs line of award-winning music production tools.

MusikMesse 2006 – New Gear round up
So what was new at the MusikMesse of this year? It must be said that this edition of the MusikMesse didn’t introduce as many new gear as the 2005 edition did. The only product that really ‘took the cake’ was undoubtedly the new Moog. For weeks and months there was the buzz on the internet what Moog would come with, … the Little Phatty. It was the last product the late and great Boob Moog worked on.
Next to the Phatty there was the new KORE from Native Instruments. Again with an extensive pre-Messe publicity coverage, the Kore got unveiled at the MusikMesse after being announced at the WinterNAMM earlier this year in Anaheim, USA.
The list below covers just a small selection of the gear that we think were the most interesting, and stood out the most.
Cakewalk updates Dimension synth with Mactel support
Just like earlier with the Rapture update Cakewalk announces a free update for Dimension Pro software synthesizer for Mac and PC. The Dimension Pro 1.2 Update will be available early April 2006 as a free download to registered Dimension Pro customers.
KORG Legacy Collection – Digital Edition update
The new Version 1.2 release of the KORG Legacy Collection – DIGITAL EDITION includes a significant upgrade to the WAVESTATION software synthesizer – Filter Resonance. Cakewalk today announces the world wide availability of Rapture, the ultimate wavetable synthesizer for igniting the sounds of todays pop, dance, and electronic music. In addition, the company also announces the free Rapture 1.1 update providing Intel enabled Mac support, and usability enhancements. The Rapture 1.1 update will be available Q2, 2006.
Terratec announces the Area 61 keyboard controller
TerraTec Producer announced a unique keyboard at the Frankfurt Musikmesse – AREA 61. AREA 61 is an expandable keyboard system for studio and gigging musicians. It is a genuine musical instrument with freely selectable, integrated sound generators (optionally available DSP soundboards) that may also serve as a central control unit for all software sequencers and virtual instruments in computer-based music studios. So in fact it is not just a midi keyboard controller, but much more.

FabFilter updates productline
FabFilter has announced that new Universal Binary versions of all its products will be released in the second half of April. From now on, Twin, Volcano, and One will be compatible with Windows (VST) and Mac OS X (AU and VST) on both PowerPC and Intel processors.
