With the all-digital UREI 1601 Series already receiving huge acclaim worldwide, Soundcraft have released a third model in the range, the 1601E, which has a comprehensive digital Effects section built in. The 1601E joins the 1601 and the 1601S series of user-friendly high performance DJ mixers (the latter having a 2-bank, 24-bit sampler section).

Version 2.2 of the professional DJ software now includes support for popular controllers, including the Hercules DJ Console, the Kontrol-DJ and any other MIDI controller. The new version also features a clearer interface, which is even more responsive when new tunes are loaded.
Pioneer Europe today announces the availability of its new PC-based software solution for the growing number of DJs who prefer mp3 files to vinyl, CD or DVD. DJS is designed for both mobile and home DJs to enable full-scale DJ mixing on a PC. The software offers the same playability and functionality as Pioneer’s Pro DJ products, using a PC interface instead of the familiar hardware; CDJ turntables and DJM mixer.

The Controller1 is a turntable. Okay no news BUT: it can play notes…The 8 buttons around the platter correspond to notes in a scale and can be played in major or minor key. It can be controlled by a footpedal or on the deck. But theres more. It can also be controled by MIDI.

Pioneer will soon announce this new DJ software SVJ-DL01. This Pioneer software is the same as any other software: play audio files from your hard drive. You mix your audio files with 2 virtual CD players and a 2 channel mixer. It runs on Windows XP/2000 only.
This software will be availible in November. Prices are not availible at this time.
djDecks is a computer mixing program for both beginning and professional djs. Mix your mp3, ogg, wma and wav files easily on any configuration. It took a bit longer than expected, but it’s finally here. This version adds initial support for the EKS XP10 controller, adds new looping functionality (halve/double loop length, move loops) and works perfectly with MsPinky timecoded records again. The tag cache system has also been improved making browsing faster. Various bugs have been fixed, and some performance improvements have been made for ASIO modes.
