This past weekend the whole Gearjunkies team, assisted by the DJ2DJ team, was present at the biggest Electronic Music Production fair in The Netherlands, Dancefair in Utrecht. Two days full of workshops, panel discussions and seminars on everything Electronic Music. It is the perfect opportunity to watch and learn from top DJs and producers, like Armin van Buuren and Hardwell, on how they build a track for example. At Dancefair there’s also an expo where you can see, feel and play with the latest new gear. Best example was the world premiere of the new Roland AIRA instruments.

Today, at Dancefair (Utrecht, The Netherlands) Roland will premiere the new AIRA series to the public for the first time. This presentation will streamed live (see details below). The first four products introduced in the AIRA series are the TR-8 Rhythm Performer, TB-3 Touch Bassline, VT-3 Voice Transformer, and SYSTEM-1 PLUG-OUT Synthesizer.

If there’s one iconic classic then it is probably that TB-303. Like we mentioned before after visiting Roland Europe yesterday we are convinced that Roland is on to something with this new series. No it’s not ‘analog’ but, damn, it sure sounds awesome!

As you know yesterday we had our day at the Roland European headquarters. We saw a lot and heard a lot. Product specialist David Ahlund showed us all the new goodies that are coming in the AIRA series. Two days before the world wide presentation of the new AIRA series of Roland, this saturday, we were invited to see for ourselves if our high expectations are met. Not only did we get some inside info on the Aira development, we als got to play with the new equipment and saw the rehearsal of dutch dj/live artist Sluwe Vos, together with Belgian dj Faisal and product specialist David Ahlund. We were able to make video’s for some exclusive footage of them performing with the new Roland TB-3 (acid), TR-8 (bassss), VT-3 (vocoder) and System-1 (synth).
