New Sounds and Samples on Sample Saturday #163
Below are some of the new releases we have encountered this week on the Loops and Samples front. Just like the quality of the audio software we use these days the quality of the content we use (loops and samples) equally matches the high standards of this software. Below is this weeks selection.
Ableton Artist feature: LOPAZZ & Casio Casino
Far from the distractions and pressures of the big city, the picturesque German town of Heidelberg has fostered a surprising number of musicians who have made their mark outside of rigid genre conventions. 1970s krautrock legends Guru Guru and house pioneer Move D still live and work in the medieval town with the castle on the hill. Add to that list LOPAZZ & Casio Casino, a Heidelberg production team who freely mix live instruments with electronics and are equally adventurous when turning out crafty, floor-filling club tracks or composing evocative soundtracks for globe-trotting documentaries.
Yamaha helps Tom Odell to reach number One
In the week his debut album Long Way Down was released, Brit Award-winning singer-songwriter Tom Odell played a packed-out set on the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury. The crystal clear sound of a Yamaha CL5 digital console at front of house helped inspire many in the audience to buy the album afterwards… sending it straight to No.1 in the UK chart.

Microsound Textures sounds for AAS Chromaphone by Richard Devine
Applied Acoustics Systems releases the Microsound Textures sound bank for the Chromaphone creative percussion synthesizer and AAS Player plug-ins in collaboration with artist and sound designer Richard Devine. Microsound Textures joins Cardinals and KitNetix as the third title in Chromaphone’s Sound Bank Series expansion line.

RME OctaMic XTC – All Purpose Preamp start shipping
The OctaMic XTC is one of the most versatile RME interfaces ever built. On the one hand it is the perfect extension to the Fireface UFX to add 8 fully integrated microphone channels, multiple formats of digital audio, and much more. On the other hand the OctaMic XTC can be used as stand-alone interface to record audio (e.g. microphones) on Apple OS/iOS devices connected via the integrated driverless class compliant mode, to give one example.
LennarDigital Sylenth1 64bit (OSX) is on its way…
With the release of Logic X (and Ableton Live 9 earlier this year) the call for a 64bit AU version of this popular software synth grew by the day. The Sylenth1 synth is among many (EDM) producers one of the most used synth instrument. We noticed that many of them were requesting this 64bit version. Last week we asked Lennard if and when an update would be arriving. This morning Lennar made an official statement (see below).
