Remote control app for Cubase – iC Pro
Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH today announced the release of their latest iOS app, Cubase iC Pro, which allows users to remote control Cubase, Steinberg’s popular DAW.
Gemini GMX Pro DJ Controller announced
Gemini, an esteemed manufacturer of DJ and Pro Audio equipment, is pleased to exhibit the GMX Pro, a full featured media controller within a compact form factor. Gemini will give NAMM attendees a chance to see their new product and take it for a test spin at Booth 5700 Hall B.
Ableton Workshops Dancefair – 16 and 17 February
As we mentioned before we have partnered up with Dancefair 2013. On the 16th and 17th february 2013, the Jaarbeurs convention center in Utrecht (The Netherlands) will be the place to be for anyone who has an ambition in having a career in dance music. A big part of Dancefair are workshops and seminars on many tech topics. Ableton will be present for a large number of workshops and seminars. Below is the list of subjects with the time table.
New Roland Capture audio interfaces announced
Roland has released information on the coming products for 2013. Many of these products will introduced and displayed at the coming NAMM 2013 show. On the audio interfaces front Roland unveils two new products for the Capture series, the Studio-Capture and the Duo-Capture MKII USB audio interfaces.
4TrackTrigger – Gearjunkies Review
The 4TrackTrigger, in the user manual introduced as “Hardware for Sophisticated DJs“. Only by looking at the controller you know that’s a true statement. During the unpacking and unboxing you immediately feel the solid german quality of Faderfox and you see the complete control we are used to know from the Swiss Glanzmann Digital DJ Solutions (4MidiLoop). Just hear me out: 150 push buttons (of which 78 super-responsive), 17 endless rotaries, 17 potentiometers, 6 dispalys and 188 LEDs. In addition, there are two options to use a footpedal, so you can ‘trigger by foot’ too. All of this hand built and far from mass production. So there is this ‘reasonable’ “big” price tag of 1500 Euros (excl. VAT). However, for ‘gearjunkies’ like us a great device to play with and a pleasure to do a review with. And that’s what I did!

Before, when someone mentioned Toolroom we would have thought immediately of Mark Knight and his gang at Toolroom Records. But now the label has also ventured in the market of Loops & Samples. They recently released volume two of their sample pack ‘Toolroom Records Samples’. So this means we missed Volume 1!
Behringer Launches XiQ Monitor Mix App for iPhone/iPod Touch
Behringer’s latest addition to the X32 Digital Mixer now allows the band to mix their own monitors using any iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad by simply downloading the XiQ app from the Apple App store. Designed to run on any device supporting iOS 5.1 or later the XiQ app is available free of charge.
New Pittsburg Modular: The Cell
The Cell [48] System 1 is a complete single voice, analog synthesizer and a great entry point into modular synthesis. Using the Synthesizer Block module as it’s centerpiece, the System 1 contains all of the most important components of a modular synthesizer. Connected internally, the Cell[48] System 1 is hardwired to create a complete monophonic synthesizer without needing to add patch cables.
KOMA Elektronik announces RH-301 Rhythm and Utility Pedal
Berlin based musical instruments manufacturer KOMA Elektronik are very happy to announce a brand new pedal: the KOMA RH-301 Rhythm Workstation/Utility Tool. The RH-301 is KOMA Elektronik’s solution for a problem many musicians are struggling with: analog and digital equipment that needs to run side by side in sync without running out of control, which is not always an easy task! Zynaptiq Releases UNVEIL Version 1.6
Zynaptiq announces version 1.6 of UNVEIL, their realtime de-reverberation and signal focusing plug-in. This free update adds VST x64 support for Windows users, enables the Preview function for AudioSuite use of the AAX version, as well as several minor enhancements and fixes, and will be available February 15th, 2013.

This is a post we have never written before. But we felt we had to. So here it goes. One of our professional relations is Sonia Akow from Push PR. Today we got the terrible news that Sonia is very ill. Sonia received bad news in November 2012 when doctors diagnosed her with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Sonia is currently undergoing chemotherapy and needs a blood stem cell transplant. This is where you can help save Sonia’s life. New MOOG Synth announced for NAMM 2013

Something For The Weekend: Turbo Studio Sessions Volume 1

Turbo just started a video series which probably be a series that is fun to watch for all the demographic groups we mentioned before!
