New Steinberg UR-Series Audio Interfaces Introduced

Today Steinberg introduced their new audio interfaces in the UR-series. The desktop UR28M interface with 6 inputs and 8 outputs and the rackmountable UR824 interface with 24 inputs/outputs will be available from the website and retailers very soon. Both interfaces will have dspMixFx technology for DSP-powered, latency-free monitoring. The UR28M is available as of now but the UR824 will be available a bit later, in november.

MOTU has announced the Audio Express, a 6×6 hybrid FireWire/USB 2.0 audio interface and mixer for personal studio recording and live performance mixing. The Audio Express features studio-grade sound, hands-on mixing, MIDI connectivity, and all the audio I/O needed for a wellequipped personal studio. Advanced features include front-panel control of four stereo mix busses, stand-alone mixing, digitally controlled analog trim, DDS (Direct Digital Synthesis) audio clocking for exceptionally low jitter performance, and an instrument tuner.

Allen & Heath has chosen the PLASA show in London to launch a Waves SoundGrid option module for the iLive digital mixing Series, which provides a low latency 64 channel bi-directional interface to SoundGrid. The new M-Waves module opens up the opportunity to use Waves’ acclaimed SoundGrid plug-in processing and concurrent multi-track playback and recording.

FL Studio for Mac Beta-Testers Wanted

Image Line have been working with CodeWeavers for the past year or so in developing a special version of FL Studio that runs in a customized Crossover wrapper (a Windows emulator/wrapper). This means that you DON’T need anything else (like a Windows installation, Boot Camp or CrossOver) to run FL Studio on Mac OSX. Just install FL Studio using the supplied .dmg and away you go!
