Allen&Heath Xone:DB4 – Gearjunkies Review

Allen&Heath Xone:DB4 – Gearjunkies Review

The Allen & Heath Xone:DB4 can de considered as one of the most elaborate DJ mixers/controllers of the moment. It has tons of functions like a 3 band EQ and a 3 band Filter, an effect processor for each channel, a built-in audio interface, and so much more. To me, personally, it is a mixer of ‘the next level’. To mention just a little detail, the Xone:DB4 comes with its own HQ carrier-bag. Little details like this tells you this is more then just a mixer.

nineOnine for the iPad – TR-909 emulation

The “nineOnine” for iPad is a simple sample-based emulation of Roland’s classic TR-909 drum machine. With its look and feel the “nineOnine” draws close comparison to the original hardware device. The “nineOnine” not only emulates the sound but also the logic of programming and saving rhythm patterns, giving you that extra blast from the past.

New Pioneer DJ Controller – More Details – New Video

Thanks to Phil Morse we came across this new video of the new (little) Pioneer DJ Controller which will be presented and officially released on the 29th of september at the BPM Show. This new controller will cost ‘considerably’ less then its two ‘fathers’, the DDJ-T1 and the DDJ-S1. We heart some rumours that it would be named the DDJ-T2, but we have our doubts as the controller will be shipped with a custom skinned version of the Virtual DJ Software.

Novation Automap 4 Available Soon

Automap 4 is the latest version of the award winning control software that powers Novation controllers. Something for the Weekend: Live Calvin Harris Mash-Up by Komatsushima

This video is to me like ‘a sign of the times‘. With the ‘fast’ evolution of DJ’ing and the equipment used by DJs this video shows exactly what’s going on these days. Komatsushima is using a Pioneer DJM-900, CDJ-2000, EFX-1000, Ableton Live, an iPad, Korg Kaossilator and Touch OSC to do a ‘mash-up’ of “Diabla (Metrik Remix)” by Funk D’ Void and “Flashback (Accapella)” by Calvin Harris.
