Here he has put his newfound SSL combo to good use, giving Massive Attack’s seminal Blue Lines album a contemporary mixing makeover fit for its 20th anniversary re-release, matching the critically acclaimed recording with a truly 21st century take on its sound. All but two tracks from Blue Lines were originally mixed on a large-format SSL console in London’s long-gone Matrix Studios so Bruno turned to SSL again for the new project: “The new SSL technology enabled me to easily match the large-format console size of sound that we wanted.

Directed by Nick Palmer, Mr. Christmas is a new independent documentary film about Concord, California’s Bruce Mertz, a man who both figuratively and literally brightens his community each December with the 50,000-plus lights decorating his house. Already sweeping up awards at film festivals in Aspen, Philadelphia, Palm Springs and Providence, the short 15-minute documentary features a score composed by Jim Briggs, who tracked all of the instrumentation through a collection of A-Designs Audio processors.
