SPL introduced New Volume Controllers

Following on the heels of the full featured Stereo and Surround Monitoring Controllers MTC 2381 and SMC 2489, SPL has introduced at this years Frankfurt Musikmesse two new completely analog volume controllers, which, true to their stated function, are dedicated solely to level control. The Volume2 model is intended for stereo applications, while the Volume8 can control up to 8 channels. Both devices are designed with active switching to circumvent inevitable disadvantages of passive circuitries that result in impedance variation and therefore degraded linearity in frequency response.

SM Pro Audio releases ADDA192-S Converter

SM Pro Audio will be showing the ADDA 192-S, their new stereo 24-bit converter at AES 2006. The ADDA 192-S is a two-channel, 24-bit, 192-kHz AD/DA converter. The ADDA 192-S has been designed to suit a range of duties including professional studio recording, field recording, audio mastering, and broadcast applications.

Universal Audio unveiled the innovative Desktop Console System (DCS)- a new concept and product line which initially includes the DCS Remote Preamp and DCS Monitor Master. Also introducing the 2-LA-2, Twin T4 Leveling Amplifier. Based on the classic LA-2A design, the new 2-LA-2 offers two linked or independent channels and two T4 optical compression cells per channel, greatly expanding the uses of the original LA-2A.
