Big Support for Propellerheads Rack Extension Platform

Yesterday’s big news was the release of the release of Propellerhead‘s new Rack Extension technology with Reason 6.5 and Reason Essentials 1.5, thirteen established plug-in developers have publicly committed to the platform — many releasing products today. Ranging from tweakable pianos to massively modulated filters and classic compressors, a total of twenty new instruments, effects and utilities are already available in the Propellerhead Shop with new ones being added daily. With a number of additional developers developing in secret, the future looks bright for the rack.

Not only has Kris released an impressive array of singles under this specific moniker and runs two highly successful record labels, but has also remixed his way through a vast catalog of tracks for Lana Del Ray, Kylie Minogue, Depeche Mode and Robbie Williams to name but a few. His latest long player Electric Horizon was released a few months ago and is deemed to become one of this year’s most distinguished albums associated with electronic music.

Elektron Octatrack OS 1.2. Now Available

Elektron has released OS 1.2 for the Octatrack. This major OS update adds, among other things, the Pickup machines. Pickup machines make the Octatrack function as a looper. Record, overdub, loop, reverse, time stretch and pitch shift loops on the fly. Automatic sequencer to loop sync makes it easy to blend pre-programmed Octatrack patterns with recorded takes. Pickup machines are great tools for guitarists, beat boxers, DJs and in general anyone wanting to experiment with loops.

The new C2 OS v2.00 update will give your Nord C2 the same B3 organ engine and rotary emulation as the new Nord C2D. This includes the improved B3 Key Click (with an added Key Bounce menu setting, and an extra high Key Click level available in the Sound menu), improved B3 Percussion behavior, improved B3 bass response and the new 122 Rotary model from the C2D (in both close and normal mic-positioning).
