Steinberg introduces new Nuendo Synchronizer
Steinberg is displaying a new first class synchronizer device tailored to the needs of post production for its Nuendo Media Production System. To be developed in close cooperation with the renowned hardware manufacturer CB Electronics, a prototype of the new as yet unnamed device is on display at the 121st AES convention in San Francisco.
Eventide releases upgrade for H8000FW
Eventide today announced version 5.2 software for its TEC award nominated digital processor: the H8000FW. Available in October, version 5.2 is designed to give engineers and artists alike additional tools for sound creation, and adds over 100 new programs, including many from noted sound designer, composer, and remixer, Richard Devine, and broadcast and post production guru, Jay Rose.

TC Electronic announces UnWrap – stereo to 5.1 conversion
TC Electronic announces that UnWrap, the worlds most widely used high resolution mastering and up converter algorithm for music and post production, will soon be available for digital audio workstations. Originally developed for TCs flagship System 6000 high definition processor, UnWrap facilitates smooth and fast stereo to 5.1 up conversion when there is no time to do a conventional 5.1 mix or multitrack source material is non existent.
UA shows DCS Remote and 2-LA-2 at AES
Universal Audio unveiled the innovative Desktop Console System (DCS)- a new concept and product line which initially includes the DCS Remote Preamp and DCS Monitor Master. Also introducing the 2-LA-2, Twin T4 Leveling Amplifier. Based on the classic LA-2A design, the new 2-LA-2 offers two linked or independent channels and two T4 optical compression cells per channel, greatly expanding the uses of the original LA-2A.

NI announces GUITAR RIG 2 Software Edition
Native Instruments introduces a new member of the GUITAR LINE: The GUITAR RIG 2 Software Edition. The functionality and feature set are exactly the same as the award winning original version, making the Software Edition the ideal solution for authentic guitar tones and tracks within a studio environment. The only difference is that the hardware foot controller is not included. Both versions will integrate the new 2.2 update, due for release in a few days, which includes a number of new components as well as Intel Mac compatibility. The Software Edition will be available mid November.
